The Celebration of U.S. functions as a tool library in the Albany Park neighborhood of Chicago. The goal was to explore how to create an eclectic and diverse building that suits the needs of one of the greatest melting pot communities in the country. This project was a large step out of my comfort zone, graphically. Color, comic-like panels, and visual effects were all heavily encouraged by our studio professor. While this is not the style I naturally gravitate towards, it pushed me to experiment with new modes of thinking and representation.
This was my first group project, completed in Rhino with Grasshopper. I focused on 3D modeling and generating the plan and section views, while my partner handled most of the rendering and graphic representation. I was solely responsible for the site plan, and have denoted which models and drawings I completed with an asterisk.
