At 1223', Watermark is the largest project I have had the opportunity to design. This project was the result of an integrated design studio, where we placed extra emphasis on researching and integrating more detailed structural, mechanical, and curtain wall systems. Our goal for the project was to take three very different programs and make them work together while still celebrating their differences. We chose to accentuate the split in programming in a way that still felt sculptural and cohesive. In all aspects of the project, we wanted to maximize green gathering spaces throughout. Every three hotel and residential floors have a shared sky garden that allows for a vertical neighborhood feeling, encouraging interaction beyond individual floors.
I completed this project in collaboration with one partner. My focus was on the exterior and site design as well as all 3D modeling. I am also responsible for all renderings, diagrams and graphic representation. My partner modeled the two dimensional floor plans in AutoCAD. The project was completed in Rhino and I used D5 to render.
